Sure to be a high-profile tape at awards time. \"Fallen Angel 2\" will move on the strength of its awesome prequel and Titan\'s reputation. GayVN include Best Overall Marketing Campaign and Best Director for Robert Kirsch and Bruce Cam.
From the very first frame and its accompanying visual beat, the viewer is swept up into an orgiastic dream that pushes the envelope of porn as we know it. Following the success of last year's Fallen Angel, the Titan Media team of directors, Robert Kirsch and Bruce Cam, have concocted a sequel that is anything but formulaic. Fallen Angel 2 is a savage beast with a life of its own. It prowls, it growls and it draws blood. It burns up the screen.
Though there are several characteristics that set Fallen Angel 2 apart, perhaps the most dramatic is its unique visual style. FA2 doesn't draw its visual references from prior porn as much as it draws freely from the editing style commonly associated with music videos. FA2 plays like a (nearly) two-hour-long music video. Composer Brandy Dalton of Drance has constructed a relentless soundtrack which propels the visual component, beat for beat. The tape is cut to the music, fusing sound to picture and creating a near-perfect hybrid of audio/visual sensual stimulation.
The complexity of Tab Lloyd's editing goes far beyond the fastidious timing of the numerous rapid cuts. The shots have also been layered through dissolves and multiple exposures with figures often appearing out of flames or fading away into the shadows. The result is a daring, ultra-stylized study that depicts the essence of gay sex in the leather culture. It is a symphony of sights and sounds in an hallucinogenic world that sucks the viewer right into the experience. The world is hypnotic and dreamlike, sexy and uncomfortable.
The convention of a traditional plot structure has also been ignores by Kirsch and Cam. There is no logical narrative thread. Themes of dominance, submission and the surrendering of the body symbolically unfold in an underground orgy of flesh that draws liberally from Dante's infernal circles of hell. There is no dialogue. The language of words has been effectively substituted for the much more primal language of touch. Thoughts are subsumed by feelings. The viewer doesn't just watch the orgasms on the screen as much as that viewer experiences them. Kirsch and Cam might well be revealing the essence of a mindless fuck and that seemingly endless moment of orgasm, the little death, when time stands still and the participants are suspended in an oblivion of pure sensation. You know the feeling. Hot stuff.
Viewers who couldn't care less about the more esoteric aspects of FA2 won't be disappointed by the down-and-dirty sex. Kyle Brandon is easy on the eyes as he shows Alex Stone the ropes... and the chains. There is fucking and sucking a-plenty on a multi-tiered scaffold, where the action never stops. Newcomer and Titan exclusive Damon Page should be winning numerous fans with his dreamy bedroom eyes, big uncut cock and more-than-willing ass. Page aims to please.
The world of sadomasochism hangs in the balance of the fine, blurry line between pain and pleasure; FA2 is exploring some new territory entirely with Kyle Brandon's on-screen genital piercing. Master piercer Paul King begins by restraining Brandon and then teasing him by playing with his nipples. As king prepares the tools of his trade. Stone jerks Brandon to a gushing climax. Before Brandon has a chance to go flaccid, King pierces the head of his cock and secures a Prince Albert ring. The camera lingers while blood replaces semen as the fluid oozing from Brandon's still-throbbing cock. Intense, outrageous and gut-wrenching, this unforgettable scene will have you squirming.
