Quinn and Tempest are quite a directorial pair. After joining forces with William Hunter for the classic two-parter, Deception I and II, they offer their own satiric look at gay life in this charming melodrama of a gay man (the highly talented as well as sexually vibrant Rob Cryston) who is trying to get his life in order for a visit from Mom. Needless to say, he needs an extra day. Distractions include an attitudinal repair man (superbly played by Johnny Rahm), a mooching roommate (Jimmy Sullivan), a 976 daddy (Chip Mathews), a lovelorn suitor from the 3rd grade (Randy Storm), and a forgotten date (Daniels). The good humor and sexual exuberance raise this modest title well above the market standard.
