Critical Rating: AAA

Director Joe Hammer makes an honest and at times successful effort to fashion a cohesive, imaginative tape. Michael Gaylord, the accessible sex boy-next-door, proves once again that he is an accomplished actor; his performance as the fantasy writer who holds the video together is consistently good from beginning to end. And his two fantasies (set in 1920s milieu and presented initially in black-and-white) are sexually as well as dramatically intriguing. The only problem with casting is Ted Matthews, who looks as bored as ever. But the major problem with this video is the weak ending which substitutes a formulaic threeway for any real dramatic resolution. Nonetheless, this is by far Hammer's best work and shows promise for future titles.
