Chet Thomas' third outing as director for Catalina's editor-in-residence is similar to last winter's excellent Black Alley South of the Border, but this one suffers somewhat from a weaker cast - here all Latin rather than mixed black and Latin - and a fake-looking soundstage set.  Neither Garetto nor Stone have the screen presence to carry a feature by themselves, and the sexual energy is rather low here.  A nice surprise is finding Melchor looking sharp after a long absence from major studio productions.  Most of the cast walks through the video, though, including a four-man orgy at the end that makes me think the back streets of the barrio can't be all that dangerous after all.
