Critical Rating: AAA

Featuring a charming story about Carrington and Ryan having to find a new roommate for their West Hollywood apartment, Blue Moves manages to pack a lot of sex into an otherwise trashy situation while maintaining a rare commodity: the audience's liking of the characters as people. Carrington really steals the production as the roommate being transferred by his job to Portland. Here is a young guy who has made a lot of videos (as far as 1987's Screwed, Blew'd And Tattooed), but has barely gotten any attention. He and Ryan make a nice pair, espousing a healthy attitude about sex and friendship. The rest of the cast is a mixed bag, with coverboy Anderson just as cute as can be, but others performing at times only half-heartedly. With just a few small improvements in the cast, this would be an extremely satisfying video. As is, it is still watchable in every scene, and leaves a good feeling behind, not to mention a strong desire to advertise for a roommate immediately.
