becauseThe Recruiter is one of those features that impresses becasue of its supporting cast rather than its stars. Neither Nick Ruffin nor Allan Shea has much charisma, but the supporting cast is interesting indeed.

The direction of this story is its weakest link primarily because of uneven pacing. The military themes are carried through effectively, if predictably, and the script contains some well-written dialogue (along with a few vapid moments). What is needed here is a tighter hand from casting to editing, though the sex is sometimes well-done.
