Director Richard O'Shea has once again answered a long list of questions about the history and early use of an assortment of items that can euphemistically be called "instruments of persuasion." This time, it's a number of striking devices ranging from the French Martinet, to the Triad Cane, to nettle birching, to the legendary feaging (a.k.a. "figging") and beyond. As is so often the case, the military is the root of much fetish-focused disciplinary perversion, and O'Shea does a splendid job of recreating those bygone days. Whether it's military-, institutional- or community-based discipline, there's a little bit of everything for everyone here.
